Good fun little run round Moors Valley country park in Verwood, tonight was in aid of local charity Autism Wessex. Ran this event last year and found it a little tough, its quite undulating with the ground relatively uneven at points, but the norm for a trail run. Last time around we also had the joy of summer evening heat matched with a drizzly fog, almost feeling like you were breathing in warm water as the air hung in the forest! Plus wet running clothes equaled nipple chafing!
Happy with my time as its the first 10k since January. I felt comfortable, like I could have run further, making my dream of running a half marathon seem that little closer.
Only a couple of niggles with the organisation though tonight, not enough marshals meaning some runners went the wrong way, and we like to run through a finish line! where was it?? just a bundle of people.
Nice little goody bag and medal, think i’ll run it again next year……
