The first product on my agenda as UK testing partner for Rinasclta (Check out the team page!) is the integrated carbon aero handlebar. A one piece carbon fibre stem and handlebar combination. Made from T800 and T1000 Today carbon fibre and designed with full internal cable routing.
The bar arrived to me from China in just under two weeks direct from the factory. Rinasclta give the option of two postage providers, either by DHL (5-7 days) or by EMS (15-20 days). As I was in no rush the EMS choice was perfect (DHL does incur a higher cost). They were packaged well with plenty of bubble wrap and arrived in perfect condition.
The bars were painted with the Rinasclta logo but full customisation is available at an additional fee. Standard finishes are either UD matte or glossy. For me, matte was the clear favourite.
I’ve fitted them to my winter bike (in it’s endless pursuit to become the worlds most heavily modified Charge Plug) to give them a good going over as it will be my steed for the next three months easily. I’ve dressed them up with one of the most design Gucci bar tapes in the world of cycling, the Manual For Speed RFTD Space Tape. (I actually won this in an instagram caption competition. You should follow the page, it’s very cool).
So far I’ve dropped 30 miles on them and first impressions are good. The shape is quite compact and the stack height is fairly shallow allowing me to get the front end of the bike that little bit lower, the bars also have -15° drop from the steerer so have a nice aggressive position. I run a 100mm stem length and 420mm width so the model I fitted weighed in at 365g, a nice 116g saving over the previous setup.
The bar shape is very comfy to grip, and the aero section on top is good to lean on if going aero on the hoods. I do need to play with the hood position and raise them up a little but so far i’m super happy. They are stiff, buzz free, and look awesome. I’m looking forward to the rest of the winter on them!
