Ottanta5, or eighty five translated to English, is Italian bicycle masters Colnago’s celebration of their founder Ernesto’s 85th birthday. Oh and it’s beautiful.
Here are some pics ripped from Colnago themselves:
Essentially a C60 underneath, a frame of performance that can’t be understated, the Ottanta5 has a lovely paint job. The lugs, chainstays, and seatstays are painted to look like those of an Arabesque, it wears the original Colnago logo on the headtube, and it’s all done by hand. It comes specced with campagnolo bora ultra wheels, record eps group set, and limited edition finishing kit, so no scrimping on form or function.
Colnago were only producing 85 of these bikes and from what I hear they sold out within 48 hours. I can totally see why, even at the £10000 price tag. I’m already in the market for a C60, this bike has just wetted my appetite further.
Write up on my recent C60 test coming soon.
