Today saw the return of the annual Primera Sports expo at the Bournemouth International Centre. It’s a free cycle show where Primeras suppliers can showcase there next seasons wares, and Primera can have an excess stock clear out. The best part of it all though is that it’s absolutely free to enter meaning it should hopefully encourage more people to get cycling, and from what I’ve heard in the industry at the moment sales are welcome with open arms.
Various manufacturers were there, cannondale, argon 18, enigma, orange, specialized, focus, pinarello, look, cervelo……. All high end gear and all eye candy. This was backed up with big name accessories manufacturers like fabric, hope, enve, 3t, zipp, and mucoff. There was also a good mix of nutrition and sports training and recovery specialists.
A few bikes caught my eye. The new specialized aero road bike, a nice focus cx bike, and a gorgeous enigma elite.
There was also the opportunity to have a little roller race, so my friend Paul and I decided to give it a go
It worked out quite well for me!
Straight to the top of the leaderboard. Who said I was competitive?
In the retail section there were some chances to buy some of the new season kit and grab some bargains on last years, I almost crumbled and bought a Castelli San Remo thermos suit for £130. Now that is cheap.
All in all a good bit of fun with the option to see next years bikes and grab some bargains. See you there next year.
