Bit of a shame I had to miss out on this one as the Purbecks are great to ride and I’ve been given good reviews of previous events, its also in aid of cancer research so is well worth your pennies. According to the local rag just under 700 took part and over £100000 was generated for the charity.
The routes were planned by local club ‘Purbeck Peloton’ and came in 8 distances, enabling more people to ride with a distance for all abilities. Distances were 10, 22, 35, 44, 55, 71, and 81 miles topped off by a 108 mile Etape with 7200ft of climbing. Entry costs were very reasonable at £20 up to 55 miles and £25 over that, with all entry fees going to charity.
The whole event sounded very well catered for, with free feed stations and rewards for raising additional amounts of money. These included T-shirts, Jerseys, hotel stays, and entry into prize draws for leisure club membership or £400 bike.

One to put in to the calendar for next year!
