Criterium racing comes to Bournemouth! last night saw the second annual Velo Sur Mer car park crit. It was held in the sovereign centre car park in Boscombe, and being just up the road I though I would take a look. Racing started around 8pm with around 35 competitors in total. Race classes were fixed only, geared, and womens, and took place over two heats and a final. There were some great bikes on show and the usual mix of hairstyles, tattoos, and beards…….. this is crit racing after all!
Local business Jimmy’s Iced Coffee had provided refreshments and there were plenty of prizes for the winners.
Its great to see more cycling culture infiltrating the town, and great to see riders coming from London to support.
Maybe i need to dig out the charge for next time………………..
